Oct 1901:   While being transferred from Hamburg to Wilhlemshaven, the non commissioned ship run aground.
04.02.1902:   Kaiser Karl der Große is commissioned.
19.02.1902:   Attached to the second squadron.
Apr - May 1902:   Voyage around the British Islands.
Aug - Sep 1902:   Participation in the autumn fleet excercises.
Dec 1902:   Visit to Norway.
Jan - Feb 1905:   Flagship of the 2. Squadron.
18.07.1905:   Visit to Antwerp to the celebrations of the 75th anniversary of the existance of the Kingdom of Belgium.
22-24.08.1906:   Participation in landing operations fleet excercises in the Eckernförde Beight
18.09.1908:   Decomissioned.
Jun - Jul 1911:   Refits.
05.08.1914:   Recommissioned after the outbreak of World War I, attached to the V. squadron.
22-26.09.1914:   Operations in the eastern Baltic Sea.
24.01-23.02.1915:   Flagship of the 5. Squadron.
Feb. 1915:   Used as a engine training ship in Wilhlemshaven.
19.11.1915:   Decommissioned.
1916-1918:   Disarmed, used as floating barrack for prisoners of war in Wilhelmshaven.
-1920:   Scrapped in Rönnebeck.
