T24

Flottentorpedoboot T24 was part of the 4th T-Flottila after being commissioned. Sent to France in June 1943 and mainly used for escorting convoys, blockade breakers and U-Boats in the Gulf of Biscay. On 29.04.1944, T24 sunk the Canadian destroyer Athabaskan during a battle between German torpedoboats and Canadian destroyers. After the allied invasion in France the ship was ordered to operate against the invasion beachhead  but was not able to reach the Normandy. It was sunk by British Beaufighters on 24.08.1944 in Le Verdon at 45°31'N,01°05'W.
