1914:   Breakdown of turbine system during trials.
-03.1916:   Repairs.
24.04.1916:   Coastal bombardment of Yarmouth and Lowestoft.
31.05.1916:   Battle of Jutland: Lützow  sinks British battlecruiser Invincible . The ship is badly damaged (24 heavy hits and one torpedo hit) and tries to return to Germany with over 7500 ts water in the ship. Since it cannot kept afloat, Lützow is sunk by the torpedo boat G38 with two torpedoes about 100 miles west of the Danish coast.
1961-1962:   Wreck is partly broken down.
