12.05.1903:  Arcona is commissioned
18.07.1903:  Attached to the reconnaissance forces.
Autumn 1903:  Participation in the autumn maneuvers.
June 1904:  Fleet parade in Great Britain for King Eduard VII.
Summer 1904:  Summer voyage with the battlefleet to England, the Netherlands, the Shetland Islands and Norway. Arcona is detached to Aberdeen to receive mail bags.
Summer 1905:  Summer voyage to Sweden.
Summer 1906:  Summer voyage to Norway.
21-28.03.1907:  Excercises with the reconnaisance forces.
04.04.1907:  Decommissioned
14.08.1907:  Arcona is prepared to be uses on foreign stations and refitted and repainted in Wilhelmshaven.
27.08.1907:  Send to East-Asia.
23.10.1907:  Arrival in Singapore.
- March 1908:  Stationed in Chinese waters.
April - May 1908:  Visit to Japan.
08.12.1908-21.02.1909:  Voyage across the Celebes Sea.
22.02.1909:  Sent to Samoa because of the upspring there.
05.06.1909:  Return to Tsingtau.
Sep 1909 - Jan 1910:  Sent to San Francisco as German representation at the 140. anniversary of the discrovery of San Francisco beight. The trip included stops in Honolulu, Seatle, San Pedro, Los Angeles and San Diego.
17.10.1910:  Ordered back to Germany
24.03.1910:  Arival in Wilhelmshaven.
30.03.1910:  Decommissioned.
1911 - 1912:  Reconstruction as mine cruiser, two 10,5 cm guns are removed. The ship is capable of carrying 200 mines.
31.10.1912: 

Recommissioned, the crew was taken from the mine cruiser Nautilus . The ship is attached to the mine experimental commission.

1913:  Participations in the autumn exercises.
August 1914:  With the outbreak of the war, the two 10,5 cm guns are reinstalled and the ship becomes flagship of the costal division Ems.
- Aug 1918:  Served in the costal division Ems
Spring 1919:  Mothership for UZ-Boats, in replacement of the old Linienschiff Preußen . Reconstruction in the Reichswerft Wilhlemshaven, all guns were removed.
1920:  Decommissioned and modernized and rearmed as cruiser for training purposes again.
25.05.1921:  Commissioned and attached to the North Sea forces.
Aug 1921:  Visit to Arendal, Norway.
Feb 1922:  Ice emergency services in the western Balitc Sea, the Arcona is damaged and has to be repaired.
Summer 1922:  Visit to Balholmen.
Summer 1923:  Visit to Abo and Karlskrona
01.12.1923:  Decommissioned and put into fleet reserve.
15.01.1930:  Striken from the list of warships, used as floating barrack in Wilhlemshaven, Swinemünde and Kiel.
1940:  Reconstructed as floating AA battery at Deutsche Werke Kiel, moved to Wilhlemshaven.
03.05.1945:  Scuttled by its own crew.
1948/49:  Scrapped.
