17.01.1911 During trials, the Augsburg supports rescue operations for the sunken U-boat U3.

02-04.08.1914 Together with the small cruiser Magdeburg , the Augsburg laid a mine filed off the port of Libau and
bombarded the harbor defenses.

15.-20.08.1914 Operation in the eastern Baltic Sea.
23-28.08.1914 Operation in the eastern Baltic Sea together with the small cruiser Magdeburg , which got lost in this operation.
01.09.1914 The cruisers is unsuccessfully attacked by the Russian destroyer Novik .
02.09.1914 Short engagement with the Russian cruisers Oleg and Bogotyr .
06.09.1914 Another engagement with Russian warships, the armored cruisers Bajan and Pallada . The Augsburg
escaped undamaged.

24.01.1915 During another operation in the Baltic Sea, the cruiser is hit by a mine, but could sail to Stettin with its
own power.

Jul 1915 Engagement with Russian cruiser forces.
Aug 1915 The Augsburg is lightly damaged by artillery fire during an operation near Riga.
Apr - May 1916 In six mine operation, the Augsburg and other ships laid 3485 mines in the Baltic Sea.
Jul 1916 Seaplanes, launched by the Augsburg and other ships attacked Reval.
Aug 1916 Damages to the cruiser's hull during another operation off Riga.
-Apr 1917 Repairs at the Kaiserliche Weft, Kiel. The 10,5 cm guns are replaced with six 15 cm guns.
Oct - Nov 1917 Operation at the Baltic Islands.
10.01.1918 Augsburg is attached to the U-Boat school.
20.07.1918 Assigned as Flagship to the mine hunters flotillas of the Hochseeflotte.
17.12.1918 Decommissioned.
03.09.1920 Delivered to Japan as "Y " and scrapped in Dordrecht, Netherlands.
