04.04.1905 Berlin is commissioned
-15.06.1905 Test and trials.
18.06-08.08.1905 Used as an escort vessel to the imperial yacht Hohenzollern , including a visit to Norway. Both, the
Swedish king and the Russian Czar visit the small cruiser in this time.
08.08.1905 Attached to the fleet.
Nov - Dec 1905 Fleet maneuvers in the Baltic and North Sea.
1906-1907 Normal fleet operations including spring and autumns maneuvers and the usual summer voyage to
Norway.
1908-1909 Normal fleet operations including spring and autumns maneuvers, summer voyage is leading into the
Atlantic with visits to Spain.
1910 Normal fleet operations including spring and autumns maneuvers and the usual summer voyage to
Norway.
27.06.1911 Fully armed and equipped, the Berlin is send to Agadair to replace the gunboat Panther ("Panthersprung")
04.07.1911 Arrived at Agadair.
28.11.1911 Sent back to Germany.
14.12.1911 After sailing through a heavy storm in the Biscay, Berlin arrives in Kiel.
Feb 1912 Attached to the reconnaissance forces of the Hochseeflotte.
29.10.1912 Decommissioned and put into naval reserve.
14.08.1914 After the outbreak of World War I, the Berlin is recommissioned and used for coastal defenses.
03.10.1914 - 24.10.1915 Coast defence operations in the German Beight.
25.10.1915-07.01.1916 Attached to the cost defence squadron in the Baltic Sea.
03.02.1916-14.01.1917 Coast defence operations in the German Beight.
11.02.1917 Decommissioned in Danzig.
Dec 1919 Recommissioned as a stoker training ship.
10.06.1921 - 02.07.1922 Reconstruction in Wilhelmshaven. The ram bow is replaced with a modern cruiser bow. The Berlin is
put into service as a training ship again.
1922 Voyages to Scandinavia and Holland.
1923 Voyages to Norway, Iceland and the Faroers Islands.
15.01.1924 - 19.03.1924 Voyage to Spain.
01.11.1924 - 16.03.1925 Training voyage to the Caribbean Sea.
09.09.1925 - 22.03.1926 Training voyage to the South America.
Apr - Jun 1927 Attached to the fleet, training operations in the North Atlantic.
01.10.1927-07.03.1929 Last training voyage, sent to South-East Asia for over one year.
27.03.1929 Decommissioned.
1935 - 1945 Used as a floating barrack.
1947 Scuttled at Jutland.
