Elbing

04.09.1915:   Elbing is commissioned
09.11.1915:   Rammed by a torpedo boat, damaging cruiser's stern.
-16.11.1915:   Training and trials.
18.11.1915:   Sent into the Baltic Sea.
05-06.12.1915:   Together  with the cruiser Augsburg , the mine layer Rügen and several torpedoboats and mine hunters, the Elbing lays a mine barrier off Lyserort.
Feb 1916:   Ordered into the North Sea.
03-26.03.1916:   Repairs in Danzig.
28.03.1916:   Attached to the 2nd Reconnaisance Group.
02.04.1916:   Fleet operation with several battlecruisers to cover returning torpedo boat flotillas.
21 - 22.04.1916:   Fleet operation into the North Sea without any enemy contact.
24 - 25.04.1916:   Cover operation for the bombardment of Great Yarmouth.
31.05.1916:   Battle of Jutland: 
As part of the  1st reconnaissance group, the Elbing takes part in the battle. The ship is hit once, killing 4 crew members, wounding 12. During the night battle, the cruiser is rammed by the battleship Posen at 0:30, disabling all engines and generators. About two hours later, the crew is taken over by the torpedo boat S53 , at  03:00 the ship is sunk by explosive charges when British ships came into sight.
