Welcome to www.german-navy.de, a private homepage about the German Navy in World War I and World War II.
On this this site, you will find information about German warships of both world wars, line drawings, model pictures, their history and operatrions and much more.
Today, a few ships of the Kriegsmarine are still known - names like Bismarck
or Tirpitz
are familiar to many, but besides that there were countless smaller and not so famous ships operating in the German Navy which should be shown here. The German Navy started a huge fleet building program in 1939 - the Z-Plan. A lot of intersting designs and studies were made to find the ideal ship of its class, which led to some unique and strange designs from todays perspective.
Besides naval history, you can find something about my scale building hobby, rc models, raytracing and naval computer games.
For a more in-depth view about the German Navy and naval history in general, take a look at the references section with many useful books about this topic.
