History| The 15 torpedoboats of the Ariete
class were the largest class of ships captured by the Kriegsmarine after the Italian surrender inSeptember 1943. None of those ships were already completed at this time and after completion all were part of the 10th TFlottila, and used for mine laying, escort duty and coastal defense.
 TA39
 (former Daga
) was commissioned on 27.03.1944 and transferred to the 9th TFlottila in September 1944, sinking the British boat ML1227
on 05.10.1944. It was scuttled near Salonicco after heavy damaging of a mine explosion on 16/10/1943. |
