History

The Dutch destroyer Van Galen was sunk in Rotterdam by a near miss of a German air attack on 10.05.1940. The ship was raised in October of the same year and it was decided to repair the ships and put it into German service as ZH3 when the construction of ZH2 would be completed. In August of 1941, this plan was canceled and the ship was broken down in October 1941.
