History
Those old Italian destroyers wase captured on 09.09. 1943 in Greece. After some slight modifications - one 10,2 gun removed and the addition of more antiaircraft guns, it was attached to the 9th torpedo boat division operating in the Aegean sea. TA18
(former Solferino
) was commisioned on 25.07.1944 and used for escort duty in the Aegean sea. It was sunk in a battle with the British destroyers Termagant
and Tuscan
on 19.10.1944.
