Uncle Sam Week 2 Pic 1

Work to sand the hull continues. The stringers are added to the deck edge, those are later used to hold the bulkwarks. Thy plywood bulkwarks are cut and sanded. While doing so, a little accident happend and one of it broke in two pieces. After repairing it, I added some additional plywood on the back of it to make the damaged part a bit stronger.

The stringers are now cut and sanded to get the right shape and position. The next step will be to add the deck on the hull and glue the bulkwarks at the deck edges. Since sanding of the hull will require some extra time, this cannot be done yet, therefore I will now continue to work on some of the superstructure details.

Uncle Sam Week 2 Pic 3 First to build was the windlass which is partly made from wood and from brass. Its only put on the deck to see its later position. Behind that, the partly build deck house can be seen.
Uncle Sam Week 2 Pic 4 Some more sanding work on the hull was done. In front, the deck with the more completed deck house and the two hatchways.
Uncle Sam Week 2 Pic 5

A more closer look to the deck. The deck house is nearing completion now while the hatchways still must be sanded and cut to the right size.
