Uncle Sam Week 5 Pic 1

At the start of the week, I added the deck to the hull. The bulwarks are also prepared and are to be added next.

Uncle Sam Week 5 Pic 2

It was quite a problem to glue the bulwarks to the deck/hull as it had to be bend quite a lot in the bow section. This required som work to get a stable connection there. But with some rubber bands, super glue and some time, the bulwarks are finally found their position.

Uncle Sam Week 5 Pic 3 The bow section. While the gap between the hull and the bulwarks requires only some few putty and sanding work, this looks different here. There is quite some work required to fill all gaps there.
Uncle Sam Week 5 Pic 4 No week without problems, this time it was the stern section of the bulwarks which had to be added seperatly. As I did not know how to get it into the correct round shape, this part did not got so good. I got some hints how to do it better (thanks Georg <g>) but for this part its too late. This will lead to some intensive sanding action again.

... the same is going on at the bow.

Uncle Sam Week 5 Pic 7 After several sanding and putty sessions, the stern slowly is approaching its correct shape, but it will require some more work. The gaps between the hull and bulwarks are closed, so the next steps of the hull can be started next week.
